Valley Flora - Growing Good Food for Local Folks

Valley Flora is nestled on the banks of Floras Creek near Langlois, Oregon. We're a diversified family farm producing over 100 varieties of vegetables, berries and fruit for local restaurants, grocery stores, foodbanks, our farmstand & u-pick, and a community-supported agriculture program. As a mother-and-two-daughter trio deeply committed to ecological farming practices, our passion is growing good food with an eye toward the artful. Our love of land, place, fertile loam, and the next generation inspires us to use cover crops, compost and crop rotations instead of synthetic fertilizers and sprays, and to do most of our work by hand - with the occasional help of a couple of tractors and a draft horse. We adhere to all organic practices, principles and regulations, but we are not third-party certified organic. Whether you're biting into a crimson strawberry, savoring a vine ripe tomato, or heaping your plate high with Abby's Greens, you'll know you're getting the freshest local produce a person can find in this neck of the woods. We love what we do - so much you can taste it.

And you're probably wondering, what's the "New Nine" Soil Stewardship Project!? This year we're taking a big leap and expanding onto a new 9 acre field, essentially doubling the footprint of the farm. The goal is to have enough land to improve our crop rotation, grow more of our own fertility (cover crops and compost), and to keep a third of the farm in year-round cover crop - all towards the end goal of vibrant, long-term soil health.

Thanks for helping us bring this vision to fruition! Here's to feeding our community and farming for generations to come!

Thank you for your support!

The Farmstand and U-Pick are Open for Summer Hours!

We are open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm, rain or shine! 81

Farmstand offerings change each week, depending on what vegetables, fruit, berries and herbs are in season. In the event of rain, we set up inside our shed to keep everyone dry. We accept cash, check, WIC, SNAP and Farm Direct coupons (sorry, no credit cards).

The strawberry patch is open for u-pick! The'll produce all summer long - into September - so there's plenty of opportunity to come get fruit! A little known fact: our strawberries are the reddest and sweetest later in the summer and there's not much u-pick competition then. So if you want to fill your freezer or make a big batch of jam, consider coming in August. We're of course happy to see you sooner as well!

The Tayberries, Loganberries and Olallieberries are also open for u-pick on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They are more limited and the season is only a few weeks long, so now's the time!

We encourage you to bring your own bags and u-pick containers. In an effort to reduce our garbage and carbon footprint, we do not provide plastic shopping bags at the farm. If you want to bring your extra shopping bags for others to use, we are happy to offer those for re-use!

Please, no pets or smoking at the farmstand. Please park in the designated area and do not block the farm entrance. Thanks so much!
