Valley Flora is nestled on the banks of Floras Creek near Langlois, Oregon. We're a diversified family farm producing over 100 varieties of vegetables, berries and fruit for local restaurants, grocery stores, foodbanks, our farmstand & u-pick, and a community-supported agriculture program. As a mother-and-two-daughter trio deeply committed to ecological farming practices, our passion is growing good food with an eye toward the artful. Our love of land, place, fertile loam, and the next generation inspires us to use cover crops, compost and crop rotations instead of synthetic fertilizers and sprays, and to do most of our work by hand - with the occasional help of a couple of tractors and a draft horse. We adhere to all organic practices, principles and regulations, but we are not third-party certified organic. Whether you're biting into a crimson strawberry, savoring a vine ripe tomato, or heaping your plate high with Abby's Greens, you'll know you're getting the freshest local produce a person can find in this neck of the woods. We love what we do - so much you can taste it.
THE FARMSTAND WILL BE CLOSED THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15TH, DUE TO THE STORM. WE WILL REOPEN ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19TH FOR OUR REGULAR HOURS:
WEDNESDAY & SATURDAY 10 am to 2 pm
(instead of 9 am to 3 pm)
Starting this Saturday, October 1st, we'll be open from 10-2 on Wednesdays and Saturdays until further notice.
Farmstand offerings change each week, depending on what vegetables, fruit, berries and herbs are in season. In the event of rain, we set up inside our shed to keep everyone dry. We accept cash, check, WIC, SNAP and Farm Direct coupons (sorry, no credit cards).
The strawberry patch is open for u-pick! They'll produce all summer long - into September - so there's plenty of opportunity to come get fruit! A little known fact: our strawberries are the reddest and sweetest later in the summer so if you want to fill your freezer or make a big batch of jam, now's the time!
We encourage you to bring your own bags and u-pick containers. In an effort to reduce our garbage and carbon footprint, we do not provide plastic shopping bags at the farm. If you want to bring your extra shopping bags for others to use, we are happy to offer those for re-use!
Please, no pets or smoking at the farmstand. Please park in the designated area and do not block the farm entrance. Thanks so much!
We are approved to accept SNAP (food stamps), WIC and Farm Direct Coupons at our farmstand, and we can accept SNAP as payment for our Harvest Baskets. Please contact valleyflora [at] valleyflorafarm [dot] com (subject: SNAP) (Zoë) at the farm with questions, or for more details.
Our CSA is SOLD OUT for 2016, but please add your name to our 2017 Harvest Basket waiting list so that we can contact you if a space becomes available this season, and when sign-ups begin next spring!
Thanks for your interest in eating locally from our family farm!
We are pleased to offer our very own CRANKY BABY and HISSY FIT HOT SAUCE!
Handcrafted with homegrown hot peppers that are vine-ripened in our greenhouses, these tabasco-style hot sauces strike the perfect balance between hot, sweet and tangy.
(Even if you don't like spicy stuff, it's worth 5 bucks for the label alone. That's our very own Pippin in the highchair, and Cleo riding the donkey - with a little help from PhotoShop...)
Approved for farm-direct sale by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
